> Birthing Refresher Class
Recommended for expectant parents who attended prenatal classes during a previous pregnancy. This course provides a review and update of birthing practices, procedures and coping methods. Instructors cover breathing and relaxation techniques, the latest on comfort measures, labor and birthing procedures and tips for adjusting to a new baby. A tour of the Women’s Center is included. The best time to take this class is during the third trimester. Parents are encouraged to enroll their children ages 3 to 10 into the Sibling class.
> Cesarean Birth
The Cesarean Birth Class is a two-hour class taught by a labor and delivery nurse childbirth educator. This class is designed for mothers and support persons who are preparing for a planned Cesarean birth as well as families who have been told that a Cesarean birth may be needed. We will cover reasons for Cesarean delivery, the Cesarean-birth procedure, and recovery and postpartum needs. It includes a film on Cesarean birth. and information about vaginal birth after Cesarean (VBAC).$60 a couple
