These classes will focus on "how to" take care of your newborn, You will receive clinical and practical information to assist new parents to care for their newborn and family.

Baby Care Basics $75.00

This three-hour class prepares parents to understand their new infant’s needs. The class includes bathing, diapering, understanding normal newborn characteristics and procedures, infant safety, nursery equipment, and when to call your pediatrician. A list of essential items or products to purchase for baby’s care will be provided. It is best to take this class during the 2nd trimester. Fee is $75 per couple.

Breastfeeding Basics $50.00

In this two-hour class, new and expectant parents learn from a Board Certified Lactation Consultant how to make breastfeeding easy and successful. Topics covered: the benefits and skills of breastfeeding to have a healthy and happy baby, how to choose a breastpump. Cost is $50 per couple

Infant Massage for Full Term Baby $60.00

Rub a tummy... stroke a foot... This two-hour class will introduce your baby to the gentle art of massage that brings benefits beyond the pleasure of touch. Babies who are massaged are often calmer and suffer less from colic. Knowing how to properly massage your baby will build confidence in your ability to respond appropriately to your baby’s cries and needs. For working moms and dads, massage offers a relaxing way to reconnect with your baby at the end of the day. Join us with your new baby to learn the skill of infant massage. You will need to bring a blanket and a towel. Infant massage is perfect for babies 6 weeks to 6 months. Fees are: $60 fo both parents and newborn

Infant Massage for Premature Baby $40

Premature Infant Massage has been shown to be beneficial to the health and development of premature babies. Research has demonstrated that babies that are massage while in the NICU and at home will gain weight more quickly, bond better with their parents and reduce their stay in the hospital. Research done at George Washington Hospital under the direction of Dr. Hany Aly has proven that even the most at-risk babies will benefit from massage. An experienced massage therapist and teacher will be conducting the class or a private session. Cost is $40 per parent.

Sibling Class - Becoming a Big Brother/Big Sister $40.00

Welcoming a new baby into your home may be both exciting and scary for a sibling. The sibling class will help prepare children ages 3 to 10 years old for this life-changing event. A visit to our Women’s Center and a peek-a-boo of the nursery is included. Topics include how it feels to become a big brother or sister as well as age-appropriate discussions about the birth process and what to expect from a new baby. Big Brother or Sister will receive a gift and create a gift for new baby. Recommended for the last three months or last trimester of pregnancy. Parents are encouraged to enroll siblings age 3 to 10 in this fun, helpful class. Cost is $40 for parents and one child, plus $10 each additional child.

A fee of $10 will be charged for additional children attending the Sibling Class. Parent are encourage to enroll siblings ages 3 to 10. Recommended for the last three months or last trimester of pregnancy.

Infant and Child CPR * Group Class * $75.00

Infant and Child CPR * GROUP CLASS * This two-and-one-half hour American Heart Association (AHA) course teaches parents and family members life-saving infant and child CPR skills. Participants learn to recognize the signs of choking, how to prevent the most common fatal injuries and how to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The fee is $75 per couple for group class, Group Class available at George Washington University Hospital and in Alexandria VA.

Baby Baby Baby - Parents of Multiples $70.00

This helpful and informative two-hour class is designed for parents of multiples. It focuses on the various childbirth alternatives and situations that parents of multiples often experience. Parents also learn essential coping skills that help them care for their children once they are at home.

Parents with Pooches $50.00

Approximately 60% of all households have a pet! Is your home prepared to be shared with a newborn and pet? The Momease pet consultant provides up-to-date procedures on how to introduce your pet to the baby and how to manage pet with a newborn. Some of the topics that will be covered are: completing pet’s physical and immunizations, introducing your pet to baby’s smell and sounds, being aware of pet’s protective signs and temperament with baby. This two-hour class will provide new parents with creative techniques to provide a healthy, safe and loving environment for parent, newborn and pet. $50 per couple.

Private Infant CPR * In-home or Corporate Office Class $70.00

Private Infant and Child CPR is taught either at the clients home or office. We recommend this class for Private Nannies and Infant Care Providers. Class minimum is 4 people and maximum of 6.
